The opportunity:


We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant to join Healthy Trajectories - a Child and Youth Disability Research Hub, a Melbourne Children's Campus Initiative, established with the vision of optimising the capacity of children and youth whose lives are complicated by disability, to reach their full potential for health and participation across the life span.

In this role you will support the Chief Investigators and Post-doctoral Research Fellow with the ENVISAGE program of research.

ENVISAGE stands for ENabling VISions And Growing Expectations and is a multi-organisation, international collaboration co-developed by researchers, clinicians and parents in Australia and Canada.

ENVISAGE aims to empower parents of children with a neurodevelopmental disability to make choices, informed by contemporary ideas, to enhance parental wellbeing, family functioning and child outcomes.


The Research Assistant will primarily work with the ENVISAGE-Service Providers (ENVISAGE-SP) team and be responsible for coordinating ethics and governance submissions, participant recruitment and follow up, data collection, database usage, and progress reporting to the Chief Investigators.

As part of our commitment to co-design, the appointee will also be expected to assist with consumer engagement and ongoing partner support.


Your responsibilities include:

Supports preparation and maintenance of research ethics for the Australian Arm of the ENVISAGE program
Contributes to fulfilling compliance reporting in keeping with Good Clinical Practice guidelines
Assists with the development of study-specific documentation and advertising
Promotes and implements participant recruitment and engagement activities and maintains systematic participant information record keeping


About you:

Tertiary qualification in a health-related discipline and registration with their appropriate health board
Experience coordinating research teams, facilitating engagement and collaboration with key stakeholders including parents, service providers, industry partners
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Experience working with families raising children with chronic health conditions and /or childhood disability is desired
