About the Group
The Collections Services Group is responsible for the development, management, andpreservation of the AIATSIS Collection.
The Group manages, describes, preserves, and digitisesthe AIATSIS Collection.
About the Program Area The Collection Management Program sits within the Collection Services Group.
Collection Management consists of the Archival Collections (Audiovisual, Photographic and Manuscript)and Collection Transformation units.
Key operational activities of the program includecataloguing, accessioning, and describing the AIATSIS Audiovisual, Photographic and Manuscript collections to enhance discoverability of, and access to, these collections for all Australians.
The Program is also responsible for delivering the Collection Transformationprogram which aims to reshape the work of Collection Services Group through new collectionsystems, workflows, and processes.
Collection Management works closely with Collection Development and Care, Collection Preservation and Digitisation, and Collection Access teamsto support the discoverability and accessibility of the AIATSIS collection for all Australians.
About the Role The Director, Collection Management, is responsible for the implementation of the AIATSISCollection Transformation Strategy which aims to reshape the work of Collection Services Group through new collection systems, workflows, and processes as well as accessioning,describing and management of the Audiovisual, Manuscript and Photographic collections.
Theposition comprises two units, Archival Collection and Collections Transformation.As part of thesenior leadership cohort, the Director will work collaboratively with the Executive Director andother directors within the Group as well as across the organisation in order to achieve AIATSISand Collection goals and strategically shape the organisation's culture and future direction.
