The Duty Technical Manager - Defect Management is responsible for monitoring Fleet Health and identifying repeat / high risk, long-term and preventive defects, formulating corrective action / troubleshooting plans required to acquit these defects ensuring timely rectification.


The Duty Technical Manager - Defect Management also provides advisory services on Fleet Health to Engineering and validates the development of predictive maintenance working closely with Defect Management & Predictive Engineers.

You'll have

  • Prior experience in Line or Heavy Maintenance, holding an Australian Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks for airworthiness and aircraft maintenance
  • Strong familiarity with applicable PC office and specialist proprietary software packages related to aircraft health & maintenance
  • Strong stakeholder management across all levels of management
  • Effective planning and organising skills, including time management skills with the ability to effectively implement and manage change
  • The ability to provide positive customer experience
  • Data analytics and proven problemsolving skills, particularly longterm defect resolution involving complex data analysis
  • Demonstrated commitment to persistently and proactively find solutions to problems
  • Commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement principles
  • The ability to influence other and work as part of a team
  • The ability to engage and coordinate with teammembers to produce safe, compliant and desirable outcomes with a strong team focused approach
  • Proven leadership capabilities, including technical coaching and mentoring of other engineers
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills.
