Our services ensure that heritable factors are considered at every point of a patient's journey and take the opportunity to identify other family members at risk, making risk management strategies available.
  • The Clinical Change Project:
- _Optimising Clinical Genomics Care for People with Dementia/Cognitive Disorder Syndromes _is a two-year collaborative project involving the Melbourne Genomic Health Alliance (MGHA), Melbourne Health, Monash Health and Austin Health. This program will embed genetic counsellors in neurology, neuropsychiatry or aged care teams to provide genetic counselling in these settings to prevent multiple appointments for patients with cognitive decline. Whole genome sequencing analysis will be performed for all eligible patients and results fed back at these clinics. The project aims to enrol around 100 individuals with early onset dementia.
