    Description

    An exciting opportunity is available for a Principal Advisor specializing in Assets to join the newly formed Asset Management team in Organisational Capability Command (OCC), dedicated to enhancing asset management for the Queensland Police Service (QPS).

    The team is accountable for managing assets and equipment throughout their lifecycle to meet operational needs and organizational goals.

    The Principal Advisor will offer strategic guidance, analysis, and assistance to the Manager (Assets), Senior Executives, and other key stakeholders on optimal asset management practices.

    Familiarity with legislation, policies, and accounting standards relevant to asset management in the public sector would be advantageous.

    Core Requirements for the Role:

    • Oversee asset management functions at OCC, including developing plans, budgets, forecasts, and enforcing standards and practices.
    • Advise senior management on asset management practices, reforms, service enhancements, and innovations.
    • Research and prepare high-quality reports, submissions, and briefs on asset management systems and impacts.
    • Contribute insights to various activities and projects related to asset management processes and policies.
    • Develop and maintain replacement schedules, total life costs, policies, procedures, and manage asset registers.
    • Establish and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders, representing the Asset Management Group at relevant forums.
    • Supervise, evaluate, and support staff performance to cultivate a culture of professional growth.

    Role Requirements:

    • Understanding or willingness to learn about legislation, government policies, and accounting guidelines pertaining to asset management in the public sector.
