National Parks and Wildlife Service has an exciting opportunity for the Asset Officer to work as part of the close-knit and high performing team within National Parks and Wildlife Service.

  • Clerk Grade 7/

  • Package includes annual salary, depending on experience ($101,947 $112,849), employer's contributions to superannuation and annual leave loading
  • Ongoing fulltime position
  • Located in Nowra.

About the role
Our South Coast Branch is currently seeking to appoint an Asset Officer.

You will be responsible for proving advice and guidance to support strategic programs for the life cycle management of existing and future assets.

As an Asset Officer, you will support the Senior Asset Officer and wider team with asset management, asset condition monitoring and assessments and other fixed asset projects across the national parks and reserves of the branch.

Use of the NPWS Asset Management System will be a key part of this role.


About You


To be successful for this role, you will be highly motivated and an excellent communicator both verbally and in writing and possess working experience in a similar role, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across a range of stakeholders.

You thrive being a team player who is proactive and demonstrates initiative at every opportunity.

  • Asset management experience and strong project management skills are essential as well as experience supporting procurement and contract management activities.
  • Experience supporting the development of asset management capability through the establishment and implementation of asset management principles and consistent use of systems.
  • Experience in the use and development of the Asset Management System (AMS) to improve the quality of data and consistent use statewide.
  • Experience managing the implementation of major contracts including consultation, negotiation and documentation.

Essential Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in asset management frameworks and systems including program supervision, coordination and data management
  • Demonstrated experience liaising with and coordinating staff or contractors undertaking asset maintenance and construction activities.
  • A current Australian drivers licence.
