About us

The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government.

We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses.

We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.

About the roleThe Office of the General Counsel has an ongoing VPS 4 FOI and Privacy Officer opportunity available.

As the FOI and Privacy Officer you will provide expert and authoritative advice in relation to their FOI and privacy matters along with assisting with the review and development of systems and processes for the effective delivery of FOI administration and privacy queries.

In the role you will also maintain close liaison and effective relationships with other branches within DGS, other Government departments and non-Government organisations.

About you
To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • A proven ability to develop strong, productive relationships and engage key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities with the ability to meet deadlines while working in pressured situations.
  • The ability to assess and make sense of large volumes of complex information, identifying key issues and details.
  • Sound analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to exercise judgement and demonstrate decisiveness.
