Role:


  • Lift and maneuver objects weighing up to 15kg between ground level and bench height and move these objects using a wheelbarrow (Such objects will generally consist of concrete blocks, clay bricks and bags of raw material.)
  • To understand and keep up to date with standards as issued by Standards Australia.
  • Become proficient in Rules and Regulations of NATA.
  • Comply with the requirements of this LQM.
  • To perform testing of product to Australian Standards.
  • To ensure the security and integrity of all files in the laboratory.
  • Become proficient in calibration checks of equipment.
  • Keep laboratory area clean & tidy.
  • Operate a diamond blade brick saw, and other equipment as required for the preparation and testing of building products and raw materials.
  • Work with chemicals such as salts, acids and other corrosive and flammable substances.
  • Other duties as necessary.
  • Conduct tests that involve controlled and safe exposure to temperatures in the range of 20?C up to 120?C.
  • General computing consisting of data entry and word processing.
  • Varying degrees of repetition of the above tasks.

Success Requirements:


  • Diploma of Laboratory Technology or Cert IV or III in Laboratory Technique.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong time management, administration, and organisational skills.
  • A desire and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks with varying levels of priority.
  • Construction Materials Testing experience preferred
