About the role


The Study Manager will report to the Technical Director and will be responsible for effectively identifying and developing construction project opportunities across the multiple business units, utilising best practice methodologies in managing people, processes and resources, and building and sustaining strong relationships with clients through delivering world class project outcomes.


In this position you'll:


  • Develop study, project and vendor scopes of work and other related documentation, managing in a timely and cost effective manner, reporting progress as required.
  • Manage daytoday study/project team interfaces and interactions, managing expectations and developing lasting relationships with various MRL functions.
  • Effectively manage the engagement of external consultants, engineering service providers, contractors and vendors.
  • Act as the focal point regarding technical queries for suppliers and engineering service providers and respond to all queries within skill set and knowledge in a timely manner.
  • Regularly review project schedules and budgets to ensure that study and project objectives are met and effectively communicate with key stakeholders progress.
  • Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
  • Ensure Quality Assurance and Safety programs are maintained and adhered to
  • Minimise company exposure to avoidable and unnecessary risks.
  • Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
  • Comply with and model standard policies and procedures.

Necessary skills and qualifications:


  • Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering (Preferably Mechanical, Civil or Process).
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in similar roles
  • Experienced with mining related studies and/or projects with an understanding of processing and supporting infrastructure requirements.
  • Previous exposure to and understanding of multidiscipline engineering and the associated interdependencies, integration and interfaces.
  • Ideally has diverse project experience from the design phase through to commissioning.
  • Demonstrated skills in managing project controls and schedules.
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external clients.
  • Proven ability to maintain good relationships with both clients, suppliers and the project team.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage time effectively.
  • High level of computer literacy (operating systems, office products, engineering tools).
  • Have a real desire to implement and follow through on multiple issues and projects to achieve productive results.
  • Knowledge and understanding of computers and Microsoft software packages.
