About the Role

The purpose of the Impact and Evaluation Officer is to support evaluative practice across SSI Group.

SSI Group's Social Impact Strategy signifies the organisation's commitment to creating, measuring, and achieving meaningful impact, and this role will play an important role in implementing this strategy.

This role is part of a small, specialised team, and will work closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and support outcome measurement and evaluative practice.

This will include supporting and coordinating the design and integration of outcome measurement and evaluation, building and managing effective processes and tools for data capture, and developing knowledge translation and reflection approaches to support learning and improvement.

Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Deliverables

  • Implementation of the

Impact Measurement Framework:

Contribute to implementation, in close cooperation with the Social Impact Lead and Head of Impact & Insights and other SSI colleagues.


  • Evaluation: Support evaluative practice across SSI,, including but not limited to collaboratively designing monitoring, evaluation and learning plans, supporting the implementation of the MEL plans, policy and procedure development, and analysis and reporting.
  • Support and learning: Work with stakeholders to build capability to embed outcome measurement and learning
  • Knowledge sharing: Contribute to the delivery of social impact knowledge products using a range of tools, including dashboards, data visualisation, etc, and work with a range of stakeholders to increase the utilisation of social impact evidence
Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience in evaluation and outcomes measurement, including design, scoping, implementation, and reporting.
  • Solid understanding of research methods and processes, including survey design, social research ethics and data protocols.
  • Proven experience in collating, integrating, analysing and presenting data from a wide variety of sources.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written: organised, systematic, thorough, accurate and disciplined.
  • Experience in evaluation/social impact for a social purpose organisation that delivers a range of human services highly regarded.
