The Role

The Adviser will assist with coordinating and responding to critical activities to support delivery of Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games Community Competition Venues.

The role will work with members of the Regional Infrastructure team to effectively manage the coordination of various reports, requests, correspondence and briefings in a timely manner.

It will also support key governance arrangements, media and communications and work across a range of internal and external stakeholders including:

local government authorities, sporting organisations, community organisations, Regional Development Victoria, the Office of the Commonwealth Games, and the Games' Organising Committee.

The position has the following key accountabilities but not limited to:

  • Build relationships and liaise with Executive offices, senior management, departmental staff, the Office of the Commonwealth Games and other stakeholders in order to collect, coordinate and progress requests against tight timeframes to support the delivery of the Community Competition Venues.
  • Work with the Senior Manager and the Regional Infrastructure team to assist with the preparation of reports, correspondence, media and communications and general administrative support while ensuring a high level of quality control over Community Competition Venues matters.
  • Provide high level coordination and quality assurance of the Regional Infrastructure team briefings, correspondence, reports and presentations, including monitoring their urgency and status. Coordinate and maintain efficient business support systems to deliver high quality reports within designated timelines.
The Team

The position of Adviser forms a part of the Sport and Recreation Victoria branch in the Sport, Tourism and Events group.

Sport, Tourism and Events (STE) is comprised of Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) and Tourism and Events (T&E).

SRV aims to create greater sport and active recreation participation opportunities for all Victorians in order to maximise economic, social and health benefits and enhance Victoria's liveability.
