Caloundra Family Store is seeking to employ a Full-Time Receiving and Processing Warehouse Assistant at our store & distribution centre for our operations in the Caloundra area.

About the role


We are seeking a Receiving and Processing Warehouse Assistant to supervise product preparation for our Family Stores and co-ordinate, with Store Supervisors, the movement of stock via order forms.

You will be responsible for sorting incoming donations to sorting areas, In consultation with the Store Supervisors, merchandising of stock and fill stock orders to stores to maximize sales.

This role is instrumental in facilitating the processing of incoming donations and new retail stock stock-take.

Assist in the development of an ethos of excellence in customer service and efficiency in operations and supporting the achievement of The Salvation Army (TSA) mission.

You will successfully

  • Facilitate warehouse operations and the movement of stock between stores and warehouse storage. This may include the taking of calls, goods pickups and delivery schedules for each of the Family Stores in the local area
  • In conjunction with the Store Managers, identify items that will maximise sales and move that stock to the identified store. Ensure goods are cleaned and prepared for sale ready to go to stores
  • Donors and customers are greeted and thanked for their donations at drop off point and assisted with bringing donations from their car to the drop off point
  • Assist with balancing the cash registers at the end of the day at the Nambour Store. May include opening & closing the store as required
  • All administration activities are undertaken in a timely, efficient and comprehensive manner and reports (as required) are provided as per policies and procedures
  • Supervise volunteers in a courteous environment that fosters a productive experience for customers and staff and contributes to the overall team effectiveness
  • Take & collect stock to other stores or recycle centre using Salvation Army truck
  • Participate in team activities, attend staff meetings when scheduled and demonstrates a supportive approach to other staff members which contributes to the overall team effectiveness
  • Meet Occupational Health and Safety obligations in line with TSA Policy & Procedures & relevant legislation
  • Take & collect stock to other stores or recycle centre using Salvation Army truck
This is a permanent full-time position, based in Caloundra West, QLD. Salary and condition are in accordance with General Retail Employee L4.

You will have

  • Experience in retail and/or customer service environment with some supervisory experience is preferred
  • Current QLD Driver's licence
  • A national police record check is required
  • Understanding of the value of secondhand goods with a wide knowledge on brands and goods
