The opportunity


This HR Consultant role works in a shared services environment, and acts as a key support partner to the HR Advisors, HR Managers, Global Delivery Services team, HR Business Partners and the wider Talent Team, by providing advice in relation to Talent functions and policy interpretation, talent related transactions and processes.


The Talent Shared Services team at EY is the engine room where all of our HR/Talent services and initiatives are processed and where ideas become action.

This role is offered on a 12 month fixed term contract.


Your key responsibilities

  • Provides accurate and timely guidance & HR advice in relation to HR data, policies and processes to Team Leaders, Partners & other key stakeholders.
  • Management of the administration for health cases relating to salary continuance and workers compensation
  • First line response and query management as a key contact in the central HR team at EY
  • Works with our managed services processing team to ensure quality service delivery
  • Works alongside our external payroll provider and onshore payroll team to ensure HR data is consistent across systems
  • Works in conjunction with our broader Oceania Core Business Services teams, in particular Recruitment, Payroll Mobility on processes such as employment data changes and contract generation
  • Escalates risks to the Core HR People and Operations Manager or Talent Specialist team as required
  • Assists in the management of the global HR system/HRIS for all Oceania employees
  • Understand how each relevant EY system relates to each other and identify potential errors to mitigate risk
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with Payroll team members to resolve payrollrelated queries related to HR information.

Skills and Attributes for success

  • Understanding of HR processes and/or relevant employment legislation
  • Time management skills & ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication & stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to identify and implement continuous improvement within current work practices
  • Familiarity with HR systems (i.e. SAP SuccessFactors) would be an advantage
  • Previous experience with workers compensation and health & safety would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of payroll processes or systems would also be an advantage
  • The ability to identify and implement continuous improvement within current work practices
  • Either some previous experience in a HR service environment or similar HR support role
  • Or you're a highly experienced customer service or admin professional looking to build your HR career

This role would also suit more experienced HR professionals with a HR admin background.
