Trades Assistant - Newcastle, Australia - UGL Limited
Description
UGL's Maintenance and Manufacturing business have experienced growth within our Locomotive Components Division based at our operation in Broadmeadow, Newcastle NSW and we are looking for a Trades Assistant to join the team on a permanent basis.
- This role is paid under UGLs Newcastle Operations Enterprise Agreement working Monday
- Friday from 5.30am 2.30pm on a 9day fortnight with every second Friday off.
About the role
- Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager this role will see you working in our locomotive components team assisting our trades, If you have a mechanical background or interest in mechanical work this would be highly desirable.
About You
- Forklift Licence
(essential) - Previous Stores/warehouse experience
- Overhead / Gantry Crane Experience
- Competent, favourable
- Previous experience working as a TA or Labourer within a heavy industry environment.
- Dogging and Rigging (Desirable)
- Proactive and Enthusiastic
- Ability to learn and understand Parts and Documentation
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Wash bay operation experience (Desirable)
Tasks
- Disassemble components.
- Assembly of components overhaul.
- Complete quality documentation
- Assisting trades with variety of tasks
- Cleaning parts
- Spray painting traction motors, compressors and components
- Wash bay operation.
