Federal Government Agency to engage an Ansible Tech Lead.
***This position is located in their busy ACT, MEL, BNE & SYD
***offices for an initial

contract until 01/10/2023 + Possible 3 x 6 months extensions available.


About the Position

Duties

  • Taking ownership of the Ansible component of our project, including establishing strong standards, patterns, and process for our Ansible codebase.
  • Validating proposed designs follows best practice
  • Design & create release artefacts in Ansible
  • Using Ansible to make REST calls to other systems to enable integration

Requirements/Skills

  • Demonstrated understanding of, and experience in the development, delivery and support of large scale IT solutions in an enterprise setting
  • Demonstrated experience using Windows PowerShell scripting to automate the deployment and configuration of software and services
  • Experience working within a System Development Life Cycle and IT Service Management framework
  • Experience migrating onpremises workloads to cloud utilising IaaS and PaaS offerings

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation
  • Experience with Ansible Automation and/or Ansible Tower/AWX
  • Expert knowledge in scripting languages utilised to automate infrastructure, for example: Powershell and/or Python
  • Expert knowledge in Public and Private clouds for IaaS
  • Good knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems in Enterprise and their supporting systems (AD, DNS, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of automation supporting products (secrets, ipam, pipelines, etc.)
  • Experience utilising TFS / VSTS / GitLab to perform Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
  • Experience developing automated unit, function and operational tests a bonus
  • Experience working with multiple cloud vendors a bonus
