  • Clerk Grade 7/8, Base Salary ($101,947
  • $112,849), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role


As a Legal Support Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the legal support functions to ensure that business objectives are met.

You will also ensure legal officers are supported in the delivery of legal services in relation to the Inquests, Inquiries and Representation portfolio of work.

Your ability to stay highly organised, problem solve, work with electronic discovery and electronic court services, and manage simultaneous issues is vital to the success of the role.


What you'll do


The work performed by the Inquests, Inquiries and Representation branch within the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) Legal includes providing assistance to Coroners in coronial inquests and inquiries, representation to the Department in inquiries generally and representation to witnesses appearing before several investigative bodies.

In addition to meeting the Essential Requirements, you will have excellent communication skills and work well in a team. You are resilient and able to work with competing priorities to agreed standards, budgets and timeframes.

You will also have demonstrable experience in the following:


  • Leading and managing clerical and administrative support staff.
  • Regularly monitoring the level of support and quality of services provided to maximise productivity and to ensure high service standards.
  • Leading the design, implementation and coordination of improved and consistent work practices, procedures and processes in respect to legal support functions.
  • Managing the performance of clerical and administrative support staff including time and attendance, work allocation, conduct performance planning and development reviews, providing regular feedback and addressing training needs.
  • Managing the implementation and delivery of ecourt services and support technological innovation with regards to legal support functions.
  • Fostering and maintaining positive relationships with clients and key stakeholders both internally and externally and actively deal with any issues in a professional manner.

What we're looking for

  • Experience in leading the delivery of legal support functions.
  • Experience in the delivery of electronic discovery and electronic court services
  • National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the _Disability Inclusion Act 2014._
  • Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the _Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012._
