It does this through education, monitoring, investigation, reporting and referral.

About these opportunities

The NACC has a number of Intake Officer positions available for immediate filling in Canberra. A merit list will be established to fill vacancies arising in the next 18 months.

About the role


The position of Intake Officer reports to the Assistant Director Intake and Triage and will work within a small team responsible for the frontline of the NACC in triaging reports received about corrupt conduct.

Key activities

Key activities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • The intake of reports to the Commission from agencies within jurisdiction and members of the public,
- initial contact handling by telephone and in writing, requiring you to speak with and write to your customers,

  • Capturing succinct summaries of reports of corrupt conduct to enable your Triage and Assessments colleagues to determine where reports are within jurisdiction and meet the definition of corrupt conduct,
- seeking additional information about the report where necessary,
- escalating reports that meet key thresholds,
- communicating outcomes where reports do not meet these thresholds,

  • Managing a busy outlook mailbox,
  • Working towards agreed productivity goals,
- performing ad hoc administration tasks and adhering to internal policy,
- being an active member of the Intake and Triage team by contributing to strategic initiatives specific to the business area and the branch more broadly, and;
- identifying and raising training, system, performance and cultural issues in the spirit of continuous improvement

The Commission is a small agency.

In addition to these activities, from time to time you may be asked to undertake tasks that are outside your usual span of duties but that are within the range of your capabilities.

Eligibility

Citizenship - applicants must be an Australian Citizen.

Security clearance - this is a Designated Security Assessment Position. The occupant of this position will be required to undergo and maintain a security clearance to Negative Vetting -
Suitability assessment - the NACC must be satisfied that successful applicants are of suitable character. They must undergo a rigorous pre-employment suitability screening process that can be intrusive in nature including (but is not limited to) detailed background, character, employment, police and financial checks.
