The Opportunity:


We are seeking a Heritage Assistant with a strong client focus, a passion for heritage the build environment with excellent communication skills to join our Brisbane practice as part of the wider national heritage team.

We are looking for someone with a passion for heritage and is wanting to develop their career.

Ideally you will have a good understanding of Heritage and statutory planning and can assist the team with providing practical advice on a range of heritage services.

The role will be supported by highly experienced Directors and a market-leading heritage team.

Key projects the national heritage team have collaborated on recently include the Queens wharf Brisbane, Herston Heritage Quarter Precinct, the National Art School and the Sydney Opera House.


You Will:


As a Heritage Assistant there is a requirement to demonstrate an understanding of built heritage principles in order to undertake a range of tasks independently, and as directed in relation to the operation and management of work in the heritage team.


Responsibilities will include:


  • Undertaking a high level of property research, interpretation and report writing.
  • Helping to prepare a range of documents including heritage studies, conservation management plans, heritage impact statements and expert witness reports.
  • Develop positive relations with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Work alongside other professionals on a range of multidisciplinary projects.
  • Work to specification, to deadlines, within budget and with a commercial outcome.
About You.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • An ability to research, problem solve and think laterally.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • An ability to undertake heritage research utilising multiple sources and methodologies and present a preliminary assessment of findings.
