Position description
Reporting to the Traffic Supervisor, you will assist with import and export logistic functions and system data entry.
Job Duties/Essential Functions
- Manage compiling and processing of all import/export documentation, including Customs and Biosecurity paperwork
- Responsible for the data entry of all relevant paperwork associated with import/export ocean, air and courier shipments into Costco's Merchandise system (AS400)
- Liaising with freight forwarders, couriers, transport companies, and shipping lines
- Provide visibility to the wider buying team of import/export shipments by sea, air or courier
- Verification and routine audit of freight rates against negotiated charge structure
- Reporting of deviations in Supply Chain and charges incurred
- Facilitating the processing of duty and freight rate requests, and import/export requirements
- Preparation of shipping documents for export, including duty drawbacks
- Provide support for queries from internal customers (e.g. Buying teams, Accounts, Finance)
- Assist in the preparation of freight, warehousing, transport quotes
- Problem solving and issue resolution for both internal and external stakeholders
- Assisting the manager and supervisor with various logistic projects
- Assisting in other areas of the department as necessary
Required qualifications / industry specific skills
Education/Training:
- Higher School Certificate or higher. University degree an advantage
Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong attention to detail, responsible, logical, proactive, studious, hands on, willing to learn and able to prioritise
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong evaluation and analytical skills
- Strong math and Microsoft excel skills
- Ability to multitask, with strong organisation and problem solving skills
- Exposure to Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides)
Other Specific requirements
- Full COVID19 vaccination or medical contraindications certificate
- Satisfactory criminal record check
- If successful, you will be required to undertake role and department specific training within specified timeframes
