About The Role


As the Procurement lead you will report to the Project Commercial Manager - Contracts and Procurement and will be responsible for the overview of all project procurement activities and coordination with our EPCM for the ERER project team to achieve optimum commercial outcomes.


You will support our EPCM contractor for our ERER project in the execution of all project procurement activities in line with our Iluka Procurement Policy and standards.

Being the focal point for our project your strong interpersonal skills will enable you to communicate and persuade effectively across the project, all functions, and Senior Management.


As the Procurement lead you will:

  • Maintain procurement registers and contractual compliance documents.
  • Align project procurement activities with corporate procurement strategies and protocols.
  • Provide contract procurement advice and support to project teams.
  • Manage procurement planning and resourcing for project procurement function.
  • Develop contract based commercial; solutions for the purpose of directly improving the Company's bottom line.
  • Formulate, draft and finalise of commercially and legally viable contract-based business solutions.
  • Day to day management and administration of specific high value/ high complexity/ high risk contracts.
  • Monitor and manage EPCM contractor performance and other procurement related tasks on an as required basis.

About You:

  • Have experience in the preparation and management of full range of Materials and Service Contracts.
  • Strong relevant experience, preferably in a mining industry context.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business/Commercial Law, or related discipline.
  • Practical commercial experience coupled with an excellent understanding on the principles and practice or commercial negotiation and contracting, with practical experience thereof.
  • An exceptional understanding of and preferably a career commitment to and experience of the wider contracting function.
  • Extensive practical experience in the use of contractual documentation in commodity, service and project type contracts.
  • Sound knowledge of SAP R3 version.
  • You will be able to communicate and persuade effectively at all levels up to and including Senior Management. Must be an excellent negotiator.
