APS4 Actuarial Analyst in
Richmond or
Dandenong.
What's on Offer:
- Role due to commence on January 15th 2024 (pending Federal Police Clearance)
- 12month temporary assignment with potential extension
- Full time hours
- Monday to Friday 7.5 hours per day

Richmond or Dandenong with hybrid potential - APS4 $44 $50 per hour + super, including casual loading (dependent on experience)

About the Role:
The
APS4 Actuarial Analyst will provide operational and administrative support and may undertake some research and analysis activities.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Extracting, cleansing and preparing of data from multiple sources, in particular the data warehouse.
- Efficiently using relevant software.
- Updating and replication of regular performance monitoring.
- Utilising statistical and mathematical modelling techniques to undertake analytical work on a range of tasks, including monitoring and analyses, data tabulations, scheme projects and cost benefit analyses.
- Undertaking ad hoc modelling requests and report production.
- Effectively communicating (verbally and in writing) the progress of work responsibilities and outcomes of work undertaken.
Key selection criteria:
- Relevant quantitative degree in actuarial studies, statistics, engineering, mathematics, econometrics, computer science or related field
- Experience is not essential but attention to detail and willingness to learn is needed
- Knowledge of statistical techniques and methods
- Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Adaptable and responsive to a continuously changing environment
(Desirable) Experience using SAS (preferred)/SQL/R/other programming languages and/or analytics platforms desirable, as well as experience working with large datasets
Mandatory:
Australian Citizenship required to work within Federal Government.
