Richmond or

Dandenong.

What's on Offer:

Role due to commence on January 15th 2024 (pending Federal Police Clearance)
12month temporary assignment with potential extension

Full time hours

Monday to Friday 7.5 hours per day
Fantastic office location in
Richmond or Dandenong with hybrid potential
APS4 $44 $50 per hour + super, including casual loading (dependent on experience)

About the Role:

The

APS4 Actuarial Analyst will provide operational and administrative support and may undertake some research and analysis activities.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Extracting, cleansing and preparing of data from multiple sources, in particular the data warehouse.
Efficiently using relevant software.
Updating and replication of regular performance monitoring.
Utilising statistical and mathematical modelling techniques to undertake analytical work on a range of tasks, including monitoring and analyses, data tabulations, scheme projects and cost benefit analyses.
Undertaking ad hoc modelling requests and report production.
Effectively communicating (verbally and in writing) the progress of work responsibilities and outcomes of work undertaken.

Key selection criteria:

Relevant quantitative degree in actuarial studies, statistics, engineering, mathematics, econometrics, computer science or related field
Experience is not essential but attention to detail and willingness to learn is needed
Knowledge of statistical techniques and methods
Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills
Proficient with Microsoft Excel
Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to work effectively within a team environment
Adaptable and responsive to a continuously changing environment

(Desirable) Experience using SAS (preferred)/SQL/R/other programming languages and/or analytics platforms desirable, as well as experience working with large datasets

Mandatory:
Australian Citizenship required to work within Federal Government.
