As an Outage Management Specialist, you'll help deliver a brighter, more sustainable energy future as you grow your skills every day working closely with our Operations Outage Engineers to find clever solutions to interesting problems


Here's how:


As part of the Operations Planning and Access Team with Network Operations, you'll help deliver a consolidated schedule of outages with the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) by fostering strong customer relationships and having a solutions-focused mindset, bounded by considered impacts to connected customers and the National Electricity Market (NEM).


You'll be at the forefront of our energy transition by engaging with traditional & renewable generators, large scale mining and manufacturing companies, electricity distributors and Powerlink's own internal projects & maintenance teams to help facilitate an annual work program in excess of $2billion.


What you'll bring:


  • Electrical trade qualification, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Skills in negotiating and influencing outcomes using operational and technical knowledge of power system operations.
  • Basic understanding of the NEM with the ability to consider potential NEM outcomes as consequence of transmission influence.
  • A current 'C' Class drivers' licence

We'd also love you to have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of generator testing
  • Knowledge of electrical safety policy, procedures and legislation
