About the role


We are looking for enthusiastic and high performing
Maintainers to join our Mine Water Management department at our Hope Downs 1 Operation.

This role is for applicants residing in Western Australia.

Rio Tinto offers Fly in and fly out options from Perth, our regional FIFO hubs and the opportunity to live in our residential towns where applicable.

Reporting to the Supervisor MWM and working in a challenging and exciting environment within the Pilbara Mining Operations, you will be required to:

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team members
  • Responsible for all Mechanical fitting work
  • Maintain borefields pumps and pipelines
  • Water treatment plants, water and waste water transfer stations
  • Assist the infrastructure team as required with adhoc jobs
  • Carry out preventative maintenance
  • Operate mobile equipment as required
  • Experience with removal and install of submersible pumps

What you'll bring:


  • Experience with maintaining borefields
  • Mechanical fitting trade certificate
  • Working with pumps
  • Poly welding experience
  • C Class Drivers Licence

It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • High risk work licenses: CN & DG
  • Confined spaces
  • Working at heights
  • Telehandler
  • Skid steer loader
  • Excavator
  • Front end loader or IT loader
  • HR Licence
