Are you looking for an opportunity to be part of an innovative Council seeking to make a positive difference in the community you support? Council is looking for a highly organised and community-minded individual to manage the high-performing Lane Cove Library.

About the Role


You will be responsible for managing the Lane Cove Library Service by developing and implementing services that ensure an effective and innovative library service.

The service consists of three library branches at Lane Cove, Greenwich and a new branch at St Leonards and has resource sharing arrangements with neighbouring Councils.

You will manage a highly skilled team that is focused on customer service excellence.


About You

  • Bachelor Degree or Graduate Diploma in Librarianship/Information Science or equivalent qualification, providing eligibility for Associate membership of ALIA
  • Demonstrated success in delivering excellent customer service in a leadership role;
  • Demonstrated experience in building and leading teams and developing a positive staff culture;
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic and operational planning, including the ability to analyse information and produce business focused reports;
  • Demonstrated experience to prepare and manage budgets and to meet the operational and financial targets of the organisation;
  • Project management experience including the ability to lead, manage and monitor multiple projects;
  • Demonstrated experience introducing emerging technologies to improve workflows and improve customer experience;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of collection management principles and processes.
