As the Principal Advisor (AO7), Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Human Resources (Identified), you will lead the diversity, equity and inclusion function within the supportive and engaged Strategy and Capability team in Human Resources at the Department of Communities, Housing and Digital Economy.

You have an opportunity to deliver high-impact innovative solutions that foster an organisational culture of belonging and cultural capability to enable our people to deliver vital services for Queenslanders and other Queensland Government agencies.

What you will be doing

  • Leading the design, development, implementation and evaluation of the department's diversity, equity and inclusion strategy, programs and initiatives. Providing opportunities for our people to build their Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural capability and ensuring our workforce practices support the attraction, retention and development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Providing comprehensive advice on workforce diversity, equity and inclusion matters. Working collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve departmental and government priorities. Managing budgets, vendor relationships, and provider contracts in line with departmental procurement and purchasing guidelines. Preparing correspondence including briefing notes, submissions and reports relating to workforce diversity, equity and inclusion mattersMandatory requirementsThis is an Identified role there is a genuine occupational requirement that this role is filled by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait islander person and evidence of this attribute is required.
