Then you could be the perfect Child & Family Health Nurse to join the Southern Illawarra team at Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD).

We're looking for a Child & Family Health Nurse who:


  • Has recent experience as a Child & Family Health Nurse
  • Has excellent skills in communicating and engaging with families, staff and other health services and NGOs.
  • Is collaborative, proactive, reliable, and flexible.
  • Supports the implementation of First 2000 Days.
Child & Family Health Service is a part of the Division of Kids & Families. You will be working within the Southern Illawarra Child and Family Health team, which is currently located at Warrawong. You will be expected to actively work towards maintain a healthy workplace culture.

Ongoing support will be provided by the CFHN leadership team, Clinical Nurse Educators & Clinical Nurse Consultants, with orientation, clinical catch-ups and case reviews.

This support will assist you when working with families with complex health and social issues, which has the potential for exposure to trauma.


Successful applicants to the role must provide certified documentation of vaccination history and pathology as part of their recruitment documentation.

The applicant must be certified as compliant with Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases before employment can commence.

Selection Criteria

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) and hold a current NSW Driver Licence.
  • Child & Family Health Nursing qualifications or demonstrated enrolment in Child & Family Health course and gain qualifications within 12 months of starting employment.
  • Recent clinical experience in a health care setting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of evidence based practice and critical thinking.
  • Demonstrated commitment to person centred care and N
