Streetlink Youth Health Service brings with it three decades of history working with vulnerable and disadvantaged young people across Metropolitan Adelaide. Working to support young people via an integrated health response, the service offers AOD support and medical support providing young people a flexible service to support a range of their needs.


About the Role
The
Family Support Counsellor is an exciting new role within Streetlink, with a core focus on

  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to provide an integrated treatment model for homeless, vulnerable and atrisk young people with a focus on family counselling and support, primary health care and AOD treatment
  • Develop and regularly review case plans and outcomes in conjunction with clients
  • Prepare client letters and professional reports, as required
  • Provide consultation and education regarding youth health and AOD to other services
  • Work in cooperation with government and nongovernment initiatives that improve coordination between agencies and address access and equity issues


To help achieve the
Streetlink purpose of providing an integrated primary health and specialised Alcohol and other Drug (AOD) treatment service that assists homeless and vulnerable young people to actively take care of their health needs and reduces harm for individuals, families and communities, primarily though the provision of counselling and case management.


About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Behavioural Sciences or the equivalent
  • Training in the provision of counselling, particularly AOD counselling and/or family counselling
  • Professional experience in the delivery of youth health and/or AOD services
  • Experience working with young people and families, and knowledge of adolescent development
