The Manager, Property Services' key responsibilities are:

  • Responsible for the development and management of the implementation of the department's strategic planning requirements, such as, Strategic Asset Management and Maintenance, Accommodation and Capital plans, focused on departmental objectives and including sustainability of properties.
  • Lead and oversee the development, implementation and analysis of cost reduction and value for money strategies through property management approaches.
  • Ensure that requirements under the Workplace Health and Safety Act are given due consideration in planning and implementation of property and fleet services, and that adequate steps are taken, including but not limited to proactive safety audits of workplaces and vehicles, to manage risks and safeguard the interests of all employees.
  • Partner with other government agencies and public sector committees and networks relating to property planning, performance, risk management and policy development matters.
  • Provide expert advice to, and work collaboratively with, all clients to develop and implement strategies ensuring appropriate linkages and consistency with wholeof government frameworks and departmental frameworks and policies.
  • Adopt and promote a continuous improvement philosophy by maintaining an indepth knowledge of property management best practices, and leveraging any emerging opportunities to achieve improved property management outcomes for the department.
  • Lead a highly professional team responsible for delivering property services across the department in line with agreed services and standards.
  • Build the capability of Property Services team by developing the knowledge and skills of its members, and key stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of best practice, continuous improvement, high performance and accountability.
