About the role:


Crime Command are seeking enthusiastic applicants who are looking for the opportunity to learn an array of skills in a busy and ever-changing environment within a motivated team that provides essential support and customer service to internal and external stakeholders.


As a valued member of the Business Services Division, you will be required to assist multiple work units across the command to meet service delivery objectives by providing a range of administrative and exhibit management duties within a dynamic and busy working environment.

This includes, managing and navigating databases, written and verbal correspondence, invoicing and purchasing, information management, minute taking and administrative duties and logístical handling and transfers of exhibits.


You will form part of a large team of VPS2 staff who work together to meet service delivery requirements across a broad range of functions within the Business Services Division to respond to the changing priorities of the command.

This role requires applicants to have strong customer service skills with a willingness to learn and meet work unit objectives.

Your duties will include:


  • Maintaining accurate data and ensuring system integrity across an array of organisational databases and systems.
  • Monitor compliance with organisational processes and assist with auditing and management practices.
  • Provide clerical support to management and work units including the maintenance of accurate and comprehensive records/registers and the collation of data and information on confidential and sensitive material.
  • Provide advice on processes to colleagues and police officers across the command.
  • Research and reference legislation and policy in order to inform processes and issue resolution.
  • Provide a high level of customer service that is solution focused while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Perform courier duties in order to support transfers of exhibits and documents.
  • Perform logístical support functions to assist with exhibit management, storage and disposal.
  • Administer supplies and equipment as required, and log logistics/property and equipment faults, consistent with service delivery priorities.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • A strong work ethic and willingness to work in a fast paced and ever-changing working environment that prioritises service excellence and professionalism. Service requirements for this role are within the squads and taskforces in our command whose support requirements regularly change.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure without direct supervision.
  • Ability to work in a sensitive and confidential environment with confronting content and information.
  • Proactive mindset and the ability to identify workable solutions to issues.
  • Valid Victorian drivers' licence.

Requirements and relevant information:


  • One (1) x fulltime, ongoing position available.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo preemployment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
