About the role

  • An opportunity exists for an experienced administration officer to work in an interesting and ever changing environment.
  • Working in conjunction with a team of professionals, this positon wil be responsible for the provson of high level administrative support to all team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high level administrative support services to the Infection Control Unit
  • Act as secretariat to committees and meetings as required
  • Screen and attend to a broad range of confidential and sensitive enquiries and telephone requests

Skills and experience

  • Demonstrated experience in the provsion of, or the ability to provide, confidential administrative support.
  • Proven ability to manage workload and prioritisation with mínimal supervision
  • Highly developed computer skills
  • Strong organisational skills and demonstrated ability to initiate review of office systems and procedures

Selection Criteria

  • Essential : Experience in the provision of, or the ability to provide, confidential, secretarial and administrative support. Proven ability to manage workload and prioritisation with mínimal supervision; ability to draft correspondence and other written documentation with mínimal direction as required.
  • Essential : Highly developed word processing and keyboard skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and electronic mail and diary systems; ability to produce correspondence, agendas, minutes of meetings, reports, presentations and other forms of documentation accurately, within deadlines.

Database Management Skills:
Proven ability to develop, maintain and report from database.

  • Essential :
Able to demonstrate highly developed communication, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships within and external to the organisation.

  • Essential :
Strong organisational skills and demonstrated ability to initiate review of office systems and procedures, ability to develop, maintain and evaluate a range of manual and computerised office systems and procedures;

  • Essential :
Ability to demonstrate high level skills in coordinating a range of concurrent tasks, meeting varied and challenging deadlines.
