The Position
Our client is a leading Australian Retail brand, that has been Australian owned and operated for 60 years.

The HR Advisor will be responsible for working onsite in their Distribution Centre, they will be responsible in supporting generalist human resources and workplace health and safety functions across a diverse portfolio.

This role will be responsible for the delivery of the training and onboarding of new employees, deliverance of workplace health and safety advice, and providing employee relations and industrial relations advice to ensure organisational goals are met.

To be successful in this role you will be an experience HR generalist professional, who is looking for a step up in their career to round out their skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage probationary processes and reviews including providing advice and training to supervisors on best practice procedures;
  • Interpret legislation, including awards and regulations and provide HR and industrial relations advice to stakeholders;
  • Support the training needs analysis of staff to identify skills gaps and recommend appropriate training strategies and programs, and support the delivery of employee related skills training to frontline management;
  • Perform and document risk assessments, ensuring corrective actions are allocated and implemented to remove or minimise risk to the workforce;
  • Demonstrate flexibility and proactiveness to ensure workloads are effectively managed and prioritised in an everchanging environment;
  • The ability to work collaboratively to support the wider HR team on key business initiatives and to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Generalist HR duties such as maintaining up to date and accurate HR, WHS, training records, updating HR policies and procedures, support the leadership team in employee engagement initiatives, manage the HRIS platform and WHS system, and support salary/wage review processes.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or related business management discipline;
  • Experience in training delivery will come highly regarded;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to influence, lead, coach and develop others;
  • Strong organisation and time management skills, and have ability to multitask and switch focus to prioritise tasks as required.
