Use your skills in being our new Youth Worker in Salisbury Downs

The role you could play


As a Youth Worker you would be providing support to young people between the ages of 15 and 17 years of age at Burlendi Youth Housing.

Our services create intentional avenues for young people to explore opportunities, build support networks, and access, participate and contribute to their communities.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide support to young people in line with Youth Services model of care and associated Frameworks
  • Build effective relationships with clients encouraging selfdetermination and participation
  • Provide ongoing assessment of client's issues, needs and circumstances from initial intake to exist
  • Ensure all clients are provided with safe accommodation, onsite supervision, guidance and support across all life domains
  • Ensure clients receive constructive advice on budgeting, shopping, cooking/nutrition, household cleaning etc.
This is a permanent part-time (30.4 hours per week), located in Salisbury Downs, SA. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Level 3 Award.

  • Diploma qualification in social work, Youth work, welfare, community development or related field
  • Demonstrated level of sector knowledge and skills attained through previous roles, service and study/development
  • Psychological Assessment (in line with Children and Young People Safety Act 2017)
  • Through their Eyes (Reporting Abuse and Neglect) Training
  • First Aid Certificate
  • A current Working with Children's Check
  • A willingness to undergo a National Police check
  • Current Drivers Licence
