About the Role


To provide and maintain high quality administrative assistance, operational and communications support to the Mayor to ensure exposure of key Council activities and programs.

This is a casual / flexible role that is required to support the Mayor including outside of business hours including weekends to facilitate the provision of photography and note taking for the Mayor at key events and meetings such as with constituents.


Key Accountabilities
Within the area of responsibility, this role is required to:

  • Facilitate the provision of photography and note taking for the Mayor at key events and meetings such as with constituents.
  • Draft, prepare and review quality communication and written correspondence on behalf of the Mayor.
  • Research assistance to prepare content required to respond to routine and complex enquiries, issues, complaints, and requests for information.
  • Assist in the production of material for printed and digital publications for Council.
  • Generate a periodic mayoral media report.
  • Demonstrate sound time management and organisational skills with demonstrated experience in managing competing priorities levels and volumes of work.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure plans are in place to enable successful event delivery.
  • Promote the positive and collaborative culture and values of the organisation through open, fair and transparent decision making and ethical, professional behaviour.
  • Work in collaboration with and assist the team, office manager and other key stakeholders to achieve business unit goals, work requests, demands and Council priorities.

About You

  • Tertiary or other qualifications and/or equivalent experience.
  • Current Drivers Licence Class C
  • Flexibility to work across varied hours and various locations as required.
  • Excellent attention to detail and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to confidentially handle sensitive issues.

Salary Range:
$36.41 to $40.78 per hour plus 25% casual loading plus 10.5% superannuation
