A key opportunity has become available for an experienced Integration Verification Validation and Qualification (IVVQ) Head of Discipline to provide leadership across the IVVQ discipline throughout Thales Australia, to support quality and service to customers, mitigate technical/engineering risks and deliver on critical defence projects.
KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a IVVQ Head Of Discipline, you are accountable for:
- Deploying adequate Practices and Tools tailored to reach the required maturity according to Project/Product delivery challenges
- Working with the IVVQ discipline delivery team to make them efficient identify gaps and associated actions to support delivery continuous improvement
- Encouraging adoption of the New and Emerging technologies
- Capitalise on and share knowledge and assets
- Allocate Operational Subject Matter Experts on coaching engineering people
- Manage, develop people/skills & allocation to products/projects
- Contribute on Bids/Products and Projects peer reviews to reduce technical/engineering risks and increase confidence to deliver
KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:
- You are able to empower and unite employees around clear objectives by acting as a coach and servant leader, which mobilises influencing and "team first" skills
- You have a deep understanding of cost estimation and knowledge management
- You have substantial knowledge of the IVVQ discipline
- You are highly familiar with Test, Integration, Verification, Validation, Software and/or Hardware development, with a mastery of associated tools
- You thrive on the continuous improvement of best practices
- You are aware of the challenges related to IVVQ activities
- You demonstrate a strong desire for continuous improvement and a capacity to develop a strategic vision, and able to integrate and even anticipate various elements of your environment in order to guide the team through the challenges prompted by competitiveness
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree or equivalent.
- 15+ years experience within major Defence Engineering projects
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
