An exciting and newly created role within Marketing, the Media Sales Manager will drive commercial outcomes for our digital and instore assets as part of our newly established media business, David Jones Amplify.

Using your proven success within the retail media landscape, you will partner with brands to drive sales and profit though David Jones Media assets.

We are thrilled to enter the multibillion-dollar Australian retail media market and are looking for a driven Media Sales Manager who is excited by the Digital Retail Media possibilities and partnerships _like no other.

The Media Sales Manager will support the category marketing team in delivering and creating best in class media programs for key brands with the support of a Media Coordinator.

The Media Sales Manager will be an autonomous self-starter who will also be responsible for driving a profitable advertising outcome for David Jones by meeting sales and profit targets.


Based in Melbourne, this role will suit an experienced and commercially astute Media Sales professional wanting to make a real impact on a unique offering within the retail media landscape in Australia.


What does the role involve?

  • Provide best in class examples of media plans to deliver profitable outcomes for David Jones
  • Oversee sales and profit budget to ensure set objectives are achieved
  • Partner with finance and merchandise to ensure all advertising is uploaded and recorded in the VAMS (Visual Asset Management System) and correctly charged to vendors according to our rate card.
  • Oversee the VAMS calendar and system with the support of the media coordinator
  • Oversee results reporting to brands once the media plan has been executed.
  • Collaborate with category marketing teams to proactively pitch to brands to ensure 100% vacancy of opportunity
  • Work with nonendemic brands to maximize advertising profit.

  • Commercial acumen and proven results in Media Sales
  • Deeply networked within retail/brand/partnerships
  • A commercial eye for partnerships both endemic and nonendemic
  • Experience in customer insights, analytics, and digital marketing
  • Ability to drive outcomes and selfmotivated with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Leadership capability
