About the role

We are seeking a values-driven and dedicated AOD Practitioner reporting to the Program Manager.

This role is instrumental in providing counselling and intensive case work to individuals experiencing the impact of addiction from alcohol and other drugs.

You will successfully

  • Undertake comprehensive intake and risk assessments with participants through the implementation of approved tools
  • Support participants within a Crisis and/or case management framework; identifying their goals and support required to achieve set goals
  • Develop, plan and supervise the implementation of educational and/or developmental programs for clients
  • Provide client representation, guidance and advice where lead case management responsibility sits with an appointed organisation or mandated service
  • Deliver on change management and new methods of working in line with best practice and 'what works' evidencebased strategies
  • Maintain electronic records and data to ensure service performance is evidenced and reported upon transparently
This is a maximum term (1 year) full time role based in Cooloongup, WA. The salary and conditions for this role are in accordance with the SCHADS Level 5 Award.

You will have

  • A relevant degree with relevant experience; or associate diploma with substantial experience; or qualifications in more than one discipline; or less formal qualifications with specialized skills sufficient to perform at this level.
  • Degree qualification in social work, social science, psychology, counselling or related field (Desirable.)
  • Minimum 3 years experience in complex case management and outreach support services
  • Experience in the AOD sector is advantageous
  • Demonstrated experience to support junior staff
  • Experience with client advocacy and working in partnership with others.
  • An understanding of minimizing risk in the workplace and adherence to WHS requirement
  • A current First Aid Certificate with CPR
