About the team


The Chemicals, Explosives and Safety Auditing Directorate (CESA) provides technical leadership and delivers regulatory services to improve workplace health and safety in the specialised areas of chemicals, explosives, third party verification, asbestos & demolition, safety management systems auditing, intervention design and major hazard facilities.


Reporting to Manager of Safety Auditing, Interventions and Assurance team, this is a critical role focused on data to enhance the priority setting and quality delivery of CESA's authorisation management, including regimes with verification programs across Major Hazard Facilities (MHFs), explosives, dangerous goods, asbestos and demolition, and High-Risk Work training and assessment licencing.

In addition to the data focus, this role will help inform programs of work, with project and operational support, including monitoring and reporting on project plans, milestones, and deliverables, to ensure time, cost and quality indicators are in line with approved project plans


Your responsibilities will include

  • Data analysis to support priority setting of CESA.
  • Provide a range of program support services, developing and maintaining project documentation and implementing and monitoring project plans.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, briefs, and ministerial correspondence.
  • Communicate with key stakeholders and coordinate working groups.
  • Support key CESA initiatives including business planning and reporting.
  • You will be experienced in updating and maintaining records and databases to ensure all information is accurate, stored correctly and accessible.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Preferred experience working with technical specialists in delivering programs of work to the community.
