We are seeking a best-in-class Payroll Specialist to own the end to end payroll processing for our teams across Australia.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Payroll Specialist looking to challenge themselves in a dynamic environment by driving positive change and optimisation across the payroll space.

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for providing technical payroll support and ensuring correct award and legislative interpretation, driving process improvement whilst also supporting our finance team with a range finance related activities including month end, assistance with tax related matters and audit functions for entities managed by the Australian Finance Team.

Our Australian manufacturing site is located in the convenient location of Derrimut, west of Melbourne.

What you will be doing:

End to end payroll processing including balancing and reporting, new hires, and termination processing (1x fortnightly and 2x monthly payrolls)
Manage Time and Attendance system to ensure accurate recording and approval for permanent employees and labour hire
Build rapport with internal stakeholders and maintain positive relationship with external stakeholders
Provide training, follow ups and timely information on payroll and labour related matters
Ensure compliance with tax, superannuation, Payroll Tax, WorkCover and other payroll related obligations including compliance with local enterprise agreement
Process accounting entries for payroll and labour accruals such as employee entitlements and month end true ups of contracted labour
Assist and backup end of month, and year end processing
Provide accounting support for preparation of FBT, GST, income tax and audit activities.

What you will bring:

5+ years experience in payroll, and time and attendance systems
Strong attention to detail and problemsolving skills
Experience using Sage Micropay and Kronos time and attendance preferred but not essential
Solid grasp of accounting basics
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
Proficiency in SAP and database a bonus
Excellent communication skills
