ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an exciting time for the Big Bash Leagues. With a clear strategy we're looking for someone to head up our Big Bash Leagues Event Operations.


The Event Operations Specialist will be responsible for leading and delivering safe and effective operational delivery of Big Bash matches (both BBL and WBBL) and other events each season.

In this role you will be a champion and trusted advisor of the Clubs and work across multiple stakeholders to ensure all events are staged in a professional and consistent manner to meet all best practice standards.

Reporting to the Head of Business Operations you'll be responsible for:

Match day Events and Operations

  • Develop, maintain, and implement the Big Bash Leagues minimum event guidelines.
  • Lead and manage cross functional business and stakeholder planning and delivery of Big Bash events.
  • Ensure Big Bash Leagues and Clubs run safe and compliant events.
  • Work in conjunction with the Event Experience Director to implement and effectively deliver the Big Bash Experience strategy.
  • Responsible for WBBL & BBL operations overlay including Finals Series.
  • Work with Clubs to ensure compliance with contractual obligations at match to Playing Conditions, CA broadcast partners and commercial partners.

Club Support

  • Day to day contact for inbound Club enquiries, traffic and respond as required.
  • Support Clubs with the development and review of key event and operational planning and documentation.
  • Manage approvals of all Club obligations and compliance relating to Big Bash matchdays.
  • Coordinate the delivery of core operational matchday components by CA departments for Clubs including accreditation, broadcast, security, and integrity.

Key Operation documentation

  • Manage, review, and maintain key League event and operational guidelines.

Cricket optimisation

  • Work with clubs, partners, and CA cricket operations team to optimize related areas including match officials, integrations, timers, playing conditions and wicket allocations.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Min 2 years' experience in major events (preferably within cricket or sport).
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications: Diploma or degree in Sport or Event Management desirable.
  • Proven ability to successfully lead and influence key stakeholders.
  • Ability to think strategically and through the lens of continuous improvement to elevate the event experience for our fans & partners.
  • Proven experience in budget management.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Understanding of the sports and entertainment industry and venues.
  • Ability to delegate and provide direction to a team of varied functional areas across a business to deliver a project.
  • A drive to create and deliver best practice systems and experiences, with the ability to motivate others to do the same.
  • Ability to sustain long and irregular hours and travel as required.
  • An understanding of cricket's customs and stakeholders is desirable.
