Who are we?


Wintringham provides aged care services to those who are financially disadvantaged and have previously been homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless.

We employ over 950 staff and our Wintringham is a not-for-profit organisation providing an extensive range of aged care, housing and related support services to men and women aged 50-plus who have been homeless or at risk of homelessness.

We employ over 900 staff and operate from multiple locations across Melbourne, Hobart and regional Victoria.

The Ron Conn Nursing Home, located in Avondale Heights, provides high quality accommodation and care to 60 residents who require assistance with daily living and personal care.


Your new role


We are currently seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Food Services Attendant to join our friendly residential team Ron Conn on a Part Time ongoing basis.

Reporting to the Residential Site Manager - Ron Conn, you will be producing breakfast, lunch, and dinner for residents.

As part of the catering staff team, you will ensure Snacks are also provided throughout the day in addition to morning tea, afternoon tea and supper.


Your roster will be as follows:

Week 1:
Monday to Friday

Week 2:
Monday to Friday


Your responsibilities and duties will include:

  • To comply with the requirements of the food safety program.
  • To assist with the preparation of all meals, drinks, and snacks.
  • To serve and clean up after meals.
  • To assist with the cleaning schedule to maintain a safe and clean environment
  • Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times
  • Participate in meetings and inservices as required
  • Duties as directed by the Residential Site Manager from time to time
The successful applicant will possess a Food Safety Certificate and excellent communication skills.

  • Understanding of food safety principles
  • Knowledge and skills in food preparation
  • Knowledge and skills in food service
  • Overall knowledge of occupational health and safety
  • Ability to respond to changes in circumstances
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Flexibility
  • Ability to relate to residents in a home environment with a nonjudgmental attitude.
  • Certificates in food service and food hygiene.
