About the role


Reporting directly to the Chief Investments & Assets Officer, the Project Officer - Major Developments role will assist in the facilitation and delivery of major property projects including 8 redevelopments and 2-4 investment/divestment transactions.

The role will be responsible for helping determine the best use for each property, preparation of detailed business cases, scheduling and management of stakeholder approval processes and assisting with other related portfolio activities, including financing, in alignment with Wesley Mission's strategic plan.

Essential criteria
- tertiary qualification in a relevant field
- ability to undertake detailed, complex project feasibilities
- good understanding of property development processes
- ability to develop forward plans that ensure the organisation develops in line with industry with the most effective and efficient results
- strong interpersonal influencing and negotiation skills to gain the acceptance of ideas, cooperation with others, and the ability to modify styles and techniques to accommodate tasks, situations and individuals
- strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills to enable identification of issues and the judgment to determine appropriate courses of action
- ability to work in partnership with all stakeholders to achieve outstanding results and value for money
- commercial acumen to identify opportunities and an ability to identify, mitigate and manage risk
- relationship building skills to take appropriate action to develop strong and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- highly developed written and verbal communication skills to enable the clear, concise and accurate conveying of information to meet the target audience needs
- planning and organising skills to effectively prioritise conflicting priorities and meet designated timeframes


Desirable criteria
- prior success in the improvement and divestment of properties
- experienced in contract negotiations for construction and development and construction contract management
- proven development management experience
- management of capital and management budgets
- not-for-profit or cause-related management experience
- competence using MS Project and CAD software.


Remuneration
Remuneration will be commensurate to skills and experience. Generous salary packaging benefits and fully maintained motor vehicle are in addition.
