We are seeking Advisors Media to provide exceptional proactive and reactive media expertise. This ongoing part-time (0.6FTE) position is currently located in Doncaster, with flexible working arrangements.


About the role

Reporting to the Manager Media within Ambulance Victoria's External Affairs Department, the Advisor Media will work within a high-performing and supportive team providing timely and accurate information in response to the services Ambulance Victoria provides.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage media enquiries as part of a shift roster, including developing media releases and providing information on AV operations while maintaining patient privacy.
  • Seek out positive proactive media opportunities to promote the highquality care and services AV provides to patients and the wider community.
  • Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of external communications strategy, policy, and protocols, and in the production of team and media reporting.
  • Support the development of communication across a broad spectrum of media, including digital and social channels.
  • Develop and maintain strong, meaningful, and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Gather, assess, and disseminate accurate and timely information via media releases, holding statements, key messages or talking points on a range of AV matters.

About you
To be considered for this position you will possess:

  • A degree or relevant industry certification with proven subsequent appropriate experience, or an equivalent combination of training and relevant experience.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of how to use media to enhance an organisation's reputation and provide media timely and relevant reactive and proactive information and opportunities.
  • Capacity and capability to work rostered shifts to support the 7am to 7.30pm media liaison hours including some public holidays and weekends. Strong writing skills, together with a proven ability to multitask and perform in an accurate and timely manner within a highpressure and complex environment.
  • High level of integrity and demonstrated ability to handle complex, sensitive information and issues while maintaining confidentiality and disseminating information to relevant key stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the demonstrated ability to gain effective cooperation from key stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Demonstrated maturity and dependability with the capacity to represent Ambulance Victoria professionally and effectively with a proven record of ethical behaviour.

The position is graded at AV4 under the Ambulance Victoria (Management and Administrative Staff) Enterprise Agreement.
