Description
This position contributes significantly to the Commercial Plan Pillars;
- (Foundation Pillar 3) Meeting the strategic intent of the Institute to extend its influence and grow its markets.
- (Foundation Pillar 4) Engaging with communities and industry in the SE of Melbourne.

Key to the role will be the identifying and developing business opportunities that align with the Institute's strategic aims.

This is achieved through the management of opportunity pipelines, preparation of proposals and closing business deals by maintaining extensive knowledge of the apprenticeship system in collaboration with the Apprentice Employment Network (AEN) and their member Group Training Organisations (GTO).


The role requires an in-depth understanding of a GTO's needs allowing the delivery of targeted products and services of the Institute's core delivery areas of health, education, and trades.

It requires facilitation of Chisholm's structured partnership model and excellent relationship management skills.


The role has a strong focus on converting relationships and business development activities into actual revenue growth whilst leading the organization internally to foster and grow a commercial lens.


ABOUT YOU

You will have qualifications, skills, and experience in:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Sales or Marketing or lesser formal qualifications with similar and/or extensive experience in sales or business development roles
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Group Training model
  • Strong business intelligence and analytical skills and capacity to use market research and sales data to identify opportunities
  • Proven experience working in a professional environment with input to the development and achievement of strategic objectives
  • Demonstrated experience in client acquisition and engagement, through a variety of methods
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to build long term relationships to increase revenue and market share
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to pursue a longterm strategic vision whilst remaining flexible enough to respond tactically to changing demands or unexpected opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively negotiate and deliver outcomefocused solutions aligned to business priorities
  • Ability to set goals, establish timelines, manage risk and budget
  • Proven experience in managing portfolio plans and sales pipelines to achieve or exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and revenue targets
  • Advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills
