About the Opportunity


The primary responsibilities of the Law Clerk include supporting legal officers as they draft legislation, researching legal matters, maintaining stakeholder/client relationships and contributing to office culture and safety.


About the Business


Located within the South Australian Attorney-General's Department, the Office of Parliamentary Counsel provides specialised legal services to Members of Parliament and SA Government officers.

Under instruction from clients, Parliamentary Counsel produces all legislation introduced to South Australia's Parliament or signed by the Governor of South Australia sitting in Executive Council.

Parliamentary Counsel is also responsible for a program of legislation revision and publication that makes 'as made' and consolidated legislation available on the South Australian legislation website.


Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested.

Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.

Must have completed, or be in the process of completing, a law degree.
