Your future employer is a well-known brand within the kitchen, bathroom and laundry market.

The company hires proactive and polished sales executives to drive sales with kitchen manufacturers, retail showrooms, cabinet makers and tile retailers.

Markets for this organisation include commercial, residential and renovations. Sales are obtained via architects, interior designers, major home builders, interior fit-out companies, trades and retailers. Your main focus will be trade and retail customers.

As an account manager, you are the custodian of the brand and building relationships across your client base. Most of this role is account management focused.

You'll spend time training and educating your customer's sales teams and be the trusted partner of key decision makers to increase your share of wallet in their business.


Responsibilities

  • Drive sales within your retail and trade portfolio of clients via negotiating for greater use of your product range and providing options to convert competitor products to your range
  • Product training and presentations with retail showroom and sales staff to build greater confidence in recommending your product to their customers
  • Call cycle management
  • Problemsolving for the key clients meeting with business owners, showroom and sales staff (in addition to accounts and production teams where necessary)
  • Negotiating and delivering promotions to support sales within your customers
  • Merchandising and making sure product samples are available to all those who need it.
  • Negotiating for more display opportunities for your products
  • Selling in and merchandising new ranges
  • Reporting on competitor activity
  • CRM and administration
  • Follow up on specifications and projects with your customers so that specifications are held

Your background and experience

  • Previous experience calling on any of the following types of customers is highly regarded:
  • Hardware stores
  • Kitchen/shopfitters
  • Plumbing merchants and showrooms
  • Window furnishings
  • Consumer durables/appliances stores
  • Similar or allied products to the above list
  • Comfortable dealing with B2B and B2C sales
  • An eye for colour and design is desirable, but not essential
  • Qualifications in colour consulting, interior design or renovation experience would be an asset for this role, but not essential. A Passion for renovation, building and design is absolutely essential
  • Teamwork to generate and hold sales across a diverse customer base
