About the role


As the Procurement and Logistics Manager you will lead the supply support functions across the Asset Class Prime Contract (ACPC) for the Landing Helicopter Docks (LHDs) and Light Landing Craft (LLC) that Babcock Marine Australia has in place.


This position also supports the pursuit of new program opportunities as required and the extension and expansion of incumbent contract programs where opportunities are identified.

You'll operate at both a strategic and operational level.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leading the ongoing engagement and communication with the operations function in order to have an aligned procurement approach that supports the ACPC Program;
  • Assisting the Procurement Managers in the identification and establishment of preferred suppliers based upon procurement policy and commercial policy/frameworks;
  • Managing selected suppliers to ensure accurate and effective services, equipment and spares are available to support ACPC activities;
  • Coordinate and lead tender programs ;
  • Provide efficient logistics procedures, structures and systems that support all operational activities; and
  • Implement appropriate systems, processes and resources to effectively manage inventory holdings accurately and efficiently and ongoing stock turn and ROI optimisation programs.

About you

Essential:


  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Supply Chain and/or Procurement;
  • Excellent negotiation skills, including those skills required to work effectively within a matrix organisation;
  • A proven collaborative leader; and
  • Highly proficient use of MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.

Desirable:


  • Experience in IFS and MILIS; and
  • Prior Defence sector experience.

Essential Compliance Requirements:


  • Must either hold, or be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance at AGSVA Baseline.
