The Opportunity


Reporting to the Underground Mining Manager, the Mining Superintendent will provide high level technical support as well as develop operational readiness plans throughout the various phases of the underground operation.


About the Role

  • Effective day to day management of production;
  • Monitoring actual performance against targets and taking corrective action to maintain targets;
  • Supervision of underground staff and contractors;
  • Provide input into mine designs and schedules;
  • Mining development, production and projects costs controlled in accordance with the budget;
  • Actively participate in business improvement plans; and
  • Carry out Statutory Mine Manager duties in the absence of Mine Manager.

About You

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in mining engineering;
  • First Class Mine Manager's Certificate;
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in an underground mining operating environment;
  • Advanced level user of Deswik, Surpac and MS Office;
  • Well developed communication skills, both oral and written; and
  • Work both autonomously and within a team environment.
