Swinburne College is looking for an experienced and qualified teacher to join the warm and welcoming team of ELICOS.


This position will support Swinburne College by delivering course materials to our student cohort and encourage and support students to actively participate in the unit material and assessments.


We are keen to find teachers who are interested in timetabled hours as well as those who would like more casual employment, including emergency teaching hours.

Our classes run five days a week, four hours a day. Our terms are five weeks long, with week 5 being exam week. Our classes run in two shifts, either 8:30am-2.30pm or 10:30am-4:30pm. Teachers share the class over the week and there may be two or three teachers allocated to the class.


About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Deliver high-quality face-to-face materials via Swinburne College's Learning Management System, Canvas
  • Support and motivate students to actively participate and engage with unit material and assessments.
  • Promote and develop essential communication skills within the student cohort which empower learners to seek feedback and assistance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the professional standards of the ELICOS courses are upheld and the quality of the student experience is maintained.

Qualifications

A degree or diploma of at least three years full-time or equivalent (teaching or other) and a suitable teaching qualification (e.g.

CELTA).


About Swinburne College

Swinburne College was established in 2020 as a joint venture partnership between Swinburne University and UP Education to deliver a range of pathway programs for both international and domestic students.


These programs (Foundation Year, UniLink Diplomas, ELICOS, Postgraduate Qualifying Program) assist students to reach the entry requirements for a university degree, transition from post-secondary to higher education or improve English language skills.

ELICOS teachers are?responsible for inspiring, engaging and educating our students for the 21st century, applying?current learning technologies and contemporary learning?pedagogies.
