We have a newly vacant
Agreement and Planning Officer opportunity in our
Environmental & Industrial Group
The Environmental and Industrial Group was created to capitalise on the opportunities in the circular economy.

The group contributes to Urban Utilities' purpose and vision by

In this role you will negotiate, prepare and manage infrastructure/ commercial agreements, infrastructure charges management, input into strategic planning, sector and business monitoring (reporting and GIS) and deliver related quality controls and customer service.


Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage a portfolio of contracts and negotiate commercial and infrastructure agreements. Will also plan, coordinate and review activities relating to major contracts, infrastructure charges and industry and operational recommendations.
  • Enable and review the successful delivery of Urban Utilities' portfolio of infrastructure/ commercial agreements, infrastructure charge determinations, industry activity monitoring and related reporting.
  • Manage important client relationships with guidance from senior colleagues or oversee relationship management with a group of more transactional clients and customers.
  • Review infrastructure charge calculations, infrastructure charge reconciliations with payments, indexation of charges, and record/advise of relevant financial and asset outcomes of infrastructure/ commercial agreements.

About You

  • There is a broad realm of tertiary qualifications that are suitable for this position, which includes Town Planning, Law, Engineering, or Finance, or equivalent experience
  • Ideally previous experience in town planning and infrastructure charges in a regulated and/or infrastructure development environment.
  • You are a team player, enjoy collaborating and relationship building with internal and external stakeholders, whilst also able to protect and champion our business interests.
