Description

About Us
Abergeldie is a locally owned contractor with over 25 years' industry experience in Australia and New Zealand. We design and deliver projects in the Water, Bridges, Transport, Underground, Energy and Remediation industry sectors.

Projects include dams, bridges, tunnels, water and wastewater treatment process facilities, rail infrastructure, mining infrastructure, electrical substations, marine works and pipeline rehabilitation:
the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities.

Our mission to build better communities goes beyond providing complex infrastructure, it is deeply embedded in our culture and values as an engineering business.

About the role

At Abergeldie we are flipping the switch on traditional safety and actively working through what "safety differently" looks like for us in practice.

We are already awesome and want to be even better.

It's an exciting time to join, as we are actively investigating and implementing contemporary safety theories, through our own workplace experiments to see what works for us.

As the HSE Manager you will play an integral role in our safety team, as well as support our Rail division.

You will focus on ensuring we have foresight over the changing shape of risk across our Rail projects.

You will provide advice and assurance to our operational teams and assist in ensuring the effectiveness of the critical controls we have in place for "safe work".

Additionally, you will partner with and provide confidence to our project teams on the implementation of our integrated management system, audit processes and maintenance of third party accreditations and ensure all our projects are safe and compliant.

About you

You will have experience as an HSE Manager within the Construction industry (ideally with experience working in the rail sector) coupled with relevant qualifications.

You will be recognised as a safety leader and be passionate about driving a culture of safety excellence. You will be willing to challenge the status quo and be naturally curious. You're the type of person who will always asks "why" and always questions if we can do things better.

You will enjoy creating the space for our workers to be empowered and supporting all our employees and leaders to be Safety Leaders.

Why you should work with us

Our people are what make Abergeldie successful, and we make sure that this is the kind of place where great people enjoy working for the long term.

We have a range of employee benefits including the Abergeldie Bonus Scheme, where all eligible employees share in the benefits of the projects they have helped to deliver.

When we deliver winning projects, we celebrate success together
